In the three-day event C.P.Cavafy@days_2013 on 13, 14 and 15 December 2013, at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, well-known artists and representatives of the new generation approached Cavafy’s poetry through the performing and visual arts, cinema and literature :

“Beyond the shadow of the Word”. Poetry evening with young poets. Curated by Thomas Tsalapatis. Participating poets: Anna Griva, Thomas Ioannou, Lena Kallergi, Stergios Mitas, George Prevedourakis, Thodoris Rakopoulos.
“Sea of the morning”. Narrative wandering in Cavafy’s poetry by the storyteller Sasha Voulgari. Music composition and accompaniment on stage: Spyros Pan
FILM SCREENINGS
Twelve films documenting the life and work of C.P. Cavafy were shown. The programme included documentaries by George Avgeropoulos, Eglal Errera, Mary Koutsouri, Tasos Psarras, Dimitris Anagnostopoulos, fiction or mixed approach films by Yannis Smaragdis, Stelios Charalampopoulos, George Koumouros as well as short and medium length films by Konstantinos Yannaris, Phyllis Katrapani, Franssou Prenant.
Also screened was the production of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi “The Byzantine Cavafy”(2013, by Panos Kyparissis and Phanis Douskos, under the scientific supervision of Rector Eleni Ahrweiler).
The events were the seventh action of the approved action ” 150 YEARS SINCE THE BIRTH OF C.P. CAVAFY”, P.E.P. Attica- NSRF 2007-2013.
