The exhibition “The publishing activity in the years of Cavafy. Alexandria 1863-1933” was held at the multi-purpose hall of the Association ‘Friends of Music’, at the Athens Concert Hall, between 6-29 November 2013. It highlighted the very fruitful production of books, magazines and newspapers by the Greeks of Alexandria, while presenting some of the books written on Cavafy’s work.

The material included about 200 exhibits, such as books, magazines, newspapers, original manuscripts, old one-sheets, sheet music, etc. Also on display were some of the one-sheets published by the poet himself with his poems, as well as handwritten pages from his diary.

The exhibits came from the Archives of ELIA-MIET, the personal collection of Manos Haritatos and the ‘Lillian Voudouri’ Library of the ‘Friends of Music’ Association.

The exhibition was held in cooperation with the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archive of the National Bank of Greece and the Private Collection of Haritatos as the fifth action of the approved action “150 YEARS SINCE THE BIRTH OF C.P. CAVAFY”, P.E.P. Attica – NSRF 2007-2013.
